In the years following their troubled college graduation, the founding members of Divine Operations—a clandestine group of gifted individuals—began to see the world for what it truly was: a battlefield where forces beyond comprehension manipulated history, and the future, from the shadows. Governments, corporations, and rogue elements all played their part in suppressing or exploiting those with extraordinary abilities.
The team knew that as threats grew more sophisticated and global power plays intensified, their strategy of fighting from the streets would not be enough.
They needed a sanctuary, a command center that would allow them to operate without detection, deploy covertly, and build the technological and tactical infrastructure necessary to wage a war that few even knew was happening.
Thus, their headquarters was born. Codenamed "The Lighthouse".
The Vision
John had always seen further than the rest. Even back in college, when their biggest concerns were exams and student loans, John was focused on the bigger picture.
It was that same vision that pushed him to run for student body president, along with Jane as his Vice president—not for prestige, but because he believed in organizing, in uniting those who would one day change the world. He saw leadership as the first step to building something greater, and took firm grasp of the oppourtunity.
That more than translated into the real world.
"We need to prepare," John had warned them, long before they ever faced their first real threat. "We'll need a place where we control the board, where we’re not just reacting—we’re dictating the terms of the fight."
